Foil is non-porous, so ink needs help to hold. Our presses pair a corona pretreatment with a primer station to prepare the surface before overprinting, which is how we reduce the risk of flaking and scuffing over the life of the label. Designs and colors are set up so fine detail and overprint stay consistent in production.
Hot foil stamping and embossed detail can be combined on one label, registered so the raised areas line up with the print. This is used for logos, crests and fine linework where a tactile finish is part of the brand. Tooling and detail level are confirmed against your artwork.
Reflective foil can interfere with barcode scanners. Where a retail or logistics barcode or QR code sits on foil, we print a matte white isolation window beneath it so the code sits on a non-reflective, high-contrast area. We recommend validating codes with your own scanner and, for Amazon FBA or retail, your channel’s requirements before the full run.

If necessary, we’ll make small adjustments to the bleed and safe margin before printing your labels. If your file requires more work, we’ll notify you along with what changes need to be made.
We offer multi-variation printing for different designs printed on the same size and material. Once you add a design to your cart, you’ll be able to add additional designs to view your discount.
We apply white underprints for custom clear labels and silver foil labels on rolls. We just ask that you supply a vector file to assist with production. At this time, clear sheeted materials are printed without a white underlay.
