Quick answer

A multi-layer label stacks two or more printed layers on one self-adhesive base, so the pack can carry text that will not fit on the front panel. We print and laminate them in Conghua, Guangzhou, at up to 1,000,000 labels a day, with lamination register of ±0.1 mm and a maximum finished web width of 320 mm.

Multi-layer or booklet?

They solve the same problem with different mechanics. A multi-layer label peels back to reveal panels printed on the layer underneath; a booklet label opens like a folded leaflet fixed to the liner. The two can be combined when a pack needs both a peel-back panel and several folded pages.

When a multi-layer label is the right call

  • The information has to stay on the pack, not in a leaflet that gets lost.
  • One SKU serves several markets, and the extra panels carry the additional languages.
  • The pack needs a promotional or compliance panel that must not be visible before purchase.
  • Front-panel space is fixed by the brand, but the regulatory content keeps growing.

What to send for a quote

  1. Container type, diameter and the label’s flat dimensions.
  2. Number of layers, and whether the label has to reseal.
  3. Face stock and any finish requirement.
  4. Artwork, or the text that has to fit on each panel.
  5. Order quantity and application method: hand, semi-automatic or automatic line.

Questions buyers ask

Can the label be resealed after opening? Yes. A resealable hinge construction is available for packs that are opened repeatedly.

Can we print variable data? Yes, variable data printing is available for codes and serial numbers.

Which adhesive for chilled or frozen packs? Tell us the storage temperature and the container material; the adhesive is selected for that condition.

Can one label carry several languages? Yes. Panels are planned by language, which is the usual reason buyers move from a single-layer label to a multi-layer one.

Do you supply the applicator? No. Labels are supplied on rolls matched to your line, and roll direction, core size and web width are confirmed before production.
